**Position Overview** We are currently looking to add a dynamic Environmental Technician to our passionate team of environmental professionals. **Job Duties** The Environmental Technician will provide our government, utility, commercial and not-for-profit clients with the services and solutions needed to efficiently and effectively manage natural resources, comply with policies and obtain regulatory permits. Job duties include, but are not limited to: + Understanding the contract needs and specifications of clients and their customers and develop appropriate solutions. + Inspect a wide range of habitats, both natural and disturbed, and assess their condition, health and functionality according to client specifications. + Identify local species, understand their typical characteristics and recognize common diseases and pests **Qualifications** **Education and Qualifications:** An individual must be able to perform each essential job duty consistently and satisfactorily. Our team is composed of professional foresters, certified arborists, natural resource managers, biologists, environmental scientists, geospatial specialists, wildland firefighters, landscape, nursery, tree care and park and recreation professionals.** **DRG currently has opportunities for field biologists on our Ecological Consulting Services-West team. These opportunities are primarily centered around assessments and monitoring related to utilities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable training and experience with many species that occur in remote areas.** **Must be in excellent physical condition and able to work outdoors with long days.** **RESPONSIBILITIES:** **● Adaptable to all types of workflow** **● Flexible with workload** **● Assess utilities alignments** **● Must be willing to work Monday - Saturday** + **Communicate with landowners regarding work on or near their property** + **Collect and enter data on handheld devices, follow maps and use GPS navigation** + **Assess all terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions** + **Coordinate with project managers, planners, and vegetation crews** + **Willingness to travel throughout California** **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:** **● Ability to get along well with peers and supervisors in a field setting** **● Experience doing outdoor work** **● Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science or related field** **● Previous field experience preferred, however, applicable academic experience would be considered** **WHAT WE OFFER:** + **Company Vehicle/ Fuel Card** + **Lodging Provided** + **Company Phone** + **Daily Per Diem** **ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: DRG offers competitive wages based on qualifications and experience.
