The Supply Chain Associate Facility Team Leader (AFTL) is responsible for leading and managing the Supply Chain team which is responsible for all procurement, logistics, and warehouse functions at the metro food production facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring timely delivery of materials to the plant and finished goods to customers.
  • Oversee all procurement processes, such as creating purchase orders, inputting cost updates when receiving orders into the system, and using the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and supplier portals for placing orders.
  • Coordinate with facility leadership, Store Support leadership, and Finance team to maintain budgets and track costs.
  • Implement inventory control strategies, ensuring the proper storage, rotation First In First Out (FIFO)/First Expired First Out (FEFO), and traceability of materials to meet quality and food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the production team to align inventory levels with production forecasts and demand fluctuations. Ensure reliable, timely, and cost-effective procurement to meet production schedules.
  • Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to streamline transportation and distribution processes and ensure compliance with transportation regulations, including food safety and handling requirements.
  • Use data and analytics to make informed decisions and drive improvements across the supply chain and leverage technology and software tools for supply chain visibility, data analytics, and process automation.
  • Ensure a US Department of Agriculture (USDA) manufacturing facility warehouse team operates safely and complies with regulatory and corporate safety and environmental programs standards and goals.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Risk Management, Internal Audit, Asset Protection, Team Member Services, etc.) to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution. Consult with other functions as needed to resolve difficult issues.
  • Motivate, direct, coach, and develop a high performing diverse and engaged team of leaders and skilled professionals to meet established goals and build organizational capability. Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented environment within the facility. 
  • Interview, select, train, develop, counsel, and manage the performance of Team Members in a way that builds and sustains a high-performing and engaged team.
  • Collaborate with Team Member Services on Team Member relations including proper documentation, investigations, corrective actions, and resolve team concerns and/or issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with, relevant regulatory rules and standards, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), USDA, State Department of Agriculture, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Department of Labor, Health and Sanitation regulations, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Weights and Measures.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative and productive working relationships with Store Support teams and Operational Areas supported by Facility Leadership.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 18+ months of food production facility experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record of success in a leadership role in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain management, environmental health and safety, and OSHA.
  • Intermediate computer skills; proficiency in select Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); and ability to learn custom applications.
  • Basic understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) processes within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of financials and Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
  • Ability to work well with others, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the facility, including nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including Team Members, customers, suppliers, and regulators.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:  

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must adhere to company dress code, standards of production kitchen dress, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with reasonable accommodation. 
  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
  • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
  • May require the use of ladders.

The wage range for this position is $98,800.00-$166,400.00 Annual, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits".
